Gynecologist arrested on suspicion of illicit sexual acts

Podgorica police arrested gynecologist P. J, suspected of illicit sexual acts.

"Police officers acted upon a report from a female person that Dr. PJ had touched her inappropriately after he had completed a gynecological examination on her at a private health facility in Podgorica. Podgorica police officers informed the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica about the incident, after which further action on the incident in question was continued by the prosecutor on duty at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica," the Police Directorate announced.

A statement was taken from PJ in the official premises of the Podgorica Security Department, while the injured party was sent for medical examinations.

The gynecologist was arrested on the orders of the acting prosecutor, who stated that the actions of PJ constituted elements of the criminal offense of illicit sexual activity.

The arrested person will be brought before the prosecutor within the legal deadline, along with a criminal complaint.
