As part of the campaign "Respect life, return weapons", from January 2 to November 12, 3.963 weapons, 130.302 pieces of ammunition, 440 hand grenades, as well as several hundred weapon parts and explosive devices were voluntarily surrendered to the Police Department.
In the past three weeks, 21 firearms have been voluntarily surrendered, as well as 214 rounds of ammunition, a hand grenade, and weapon parts.
In the territory under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "Centar", citizens voluntarily surrendered eight pistols and four rifles, 158 rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade to the police.
The gun was voluntarily surrendered to officers of the Regional Security Center "South".
In the territory under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "North", three pistols and two rifles, 56 rounds of ammunition, as well as weapon parts were voluntarily surrendered.
Two pistols and a rifle were voluntarily surrendered to police officers of the Regional Security Center "West".
"The Police Directorate thanks citizens for their responsible attitude towards personal and collective safety and calls on them to take advantage of the current campaign to voluntarily return weapons without legal consequences," the statement reads.
