Niksic police arrested NJ (44) from that city on suspicion of attacking an official in the performance of his duties, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
As stated in the statement, a domestic violence case was reported to the Nikšić police on duty yesterday, the perpetrator of which was NJ.
"A police patrol was sent to the scene, to the family home of the person who reported the incident, but they did not find the person since he had left before their arrival. Since the person who reported the incident was unable to access the official premises of the Nikšić Security Department due to his health condition, a statement was collected from him for the record in the family home," the statement reads.
The police explained that, during the interview, NJ came to the house, visibly intoxicated, and on that occasion threatened the police officers, grabbing the police officer SB by the shoulder with his hand, when the police officer warned him and then ordered him to move away from her, which he ignored.
"After that, he tried to punch police officer FP, who on this occasion used means of coercion against NJ and brought him to the official premises of the Nikšić Security Department. The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed of the entire incident, on whose order NJ was deprived of liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of assault on an official in the performance of official duty," the statement states.
