The Berane police found weapons, ammunition and opiate pills during a search, and filed criminal and misdemeanor charges, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that Berane police officers searched the family homes and outbuildings used by MM (40) and MM (43) from that town.
"On this occasion, members of the Berane police found and seized 32 rounds of ammunition, an automatic rifle frame, an automatic weapon breechblock, five improvised pens for firing small-caliber ammunition, and a starter pistol with seven rounds of ammunition in the part of the house used by MM (40). Furthermore, a search was conducted in another part of the house used by MM (43), where a Crvena Zastava small-caliber 4,5 mm rifle, a glass jar with gunpowder, and 18 pills from the list of opiates without accompanying documentation were found," the statement said.
The UP added that the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed of the incident and stated that the actions of MM (40) constitute elements of the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, and that the said weapons and ammunition should be sent for appropriate expert examination to the Forensic Center in Danilovgrad, after which they will decide on the possible legal qualification in relation to MM (43).
"In addition, it was determined that the above-mentioned tablets belong to MM (37), and a misdemeanor charge has been filed against her for violations of the Drug Abuse Prevention Act," the UP said.
