Berane police officers seized 57 pills from the list of opiates, filed one criminal and three misdemeanor charges, the Police Directorate announced.
It is alleged that the Berane police checked AJ (30) and DB (35) of operational interest on 29 November Street.
As it was added, two pills from the list of opiates were found with DB and she was brought to the official premises.
"Information was collected from her for the record, and the police came to suspect that DB had purchased one of the two found tablets earlier that same day for a certain amount of money from SS (48), while the other had previously been in her possession," the statement said.
Police officers, it is added, found SS, brought him to the official premises of the Berane Security Department (OB) and collected information from him on the circumstances.
"With the orders of the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Berane, searches were carried out in apartments used by the DB and SS, during which five more pills from the list of opiates were found in the DB apartment without accompanying documentation," the police said.
They stated that the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office (VDT) in Bijelo Polje was informed of the incident, and on whose orders SS was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of drugs.
"While a request has been filed against DB to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for violations of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse," the statement added.
It is stated that the police in Berane, in the town of Beranselo, checked the driver BK (45), who was driving a VW Golf V passenger vehicle.
"During a search of the interior of the vehicle, police found a box of 14 opiate pills in the glove compartment of the passenger seat, without proper documentation," the statement said.
As it is added, BK was brought to the official premises of the Berane Police Station, where information was collected from him for the record regarding the circumstances of his possession of pills from the list of opiates.
"In addition, a search was conducted of the house and auxiliary rooms used by RA (38) in the village of Dapsiće, and on that occasion 36 pieces of various pills from the list of opiates were found, so he was brought to official premises where information was collected from him for the record," the statement said.
The police stated that the prosecutor at the State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was informed of the events.
"Who stated that the actions of BK and RA do not constitute elements of a criminal offense, but rather a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse, and misdemeanor charges have been filed against them," the statement said.
