A high-ranking member of a criminal group, a resident of Podgorica To Djordje Djukic, who was extradited to Montenegro by Greece on Wednesday on an Interpol warrant, has been ordered to be detained for up to a month due to the risk of flight and repetition of the criminal offense if he were to be released.
After being questioned by the investigating judge of the Basic Court in Podgorica, the decision on his previously ordered detention was left in effect.
Djukic has been unavailable to state authorities since November 2024, which is why a warrant was issued for him, and he was deprived of his liberty on November 12 of this year.
Although he claimed during the hearing that he was in Greece on business and for vacation, the investigating judge Borko Lončar He found these allegations to be irrelevant since the police interrogated Đukić's brother and father as part of the proceedings, and the case was also covered by the media.
Đukić was also remanded in custody due to the risk that he might repeat the crime once released, as he is a multiple repeat offender, among other things, in committing a crime with elements of greed, while in this specific case there is reasonable suspicion that he also committed the crime of aggravated theft.
He was previously convicted twice for the crime of grievous bodily harm, the aggravated crime of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs, and violent behavior.
The prosecution charges Đukić with aggravated theft, and the case file shows that it was he, through the defendant, who Dear Milić, and he over Svetlana Rocenovic, rented a parking space where stolen vehicles were found, while his DNA was found in one of the vehicles.
A few days ago, the Police Directorate informed the public that twenty-six-year-old Đukić (26) and a nine-year-old man were extradited from Greece. Stevan Kraljevic (35), for whom Montenegro has issued a red international arrest warrant.
The institution announced that they were members of a high-ranking criminal group.
"Previously, in July of this year, acting on international arrest warrants from the Interpol Central Bureau of Investigation in Podgorica, police officers in Greece located and arrested the aforementioned individuals in Athens, who were hiding in Greece under false identities and using false documents," the statement from November 12 stated.
The same text explains that a warrant has been issued for Đukić based on an order of the Basic Court in Podgorica, for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings on suspicion that he committed a criminal offense - criminal association in conjunction with the criminal offense of aggravated theft.
"An international arrest warrant has been issued for SK from Podgorica based on three orders of the Higher Court in Podgorica, in order to ensure his presence in criminal proceedings conducted on suspicion that he committed three criminal offenses: creation of a criminal organization and aggravated murder by aiding and abetting," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
Đukić was also remanded in custody due to the risk that he could repeat the crime once released, as he is a multiple repeat offender, including for committing a crime with elements of self-interest.
