In the past two days, police have seized vehicles, weapons, ammunition, cocaine and marijuana and arrested three people in possession of drugs, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
"Over the past two days, officers of the Regional Security Center "West" have simultaneously and coordinated in several cities conducted intensified activities aimed at controlling operationally interesting persons, OKG members and persons associated with them, during which they seized vehicles, weapons, ammunition, cocaine and marijuana and deprived three persons of their liberty in whose possession drugs were found. In the comprehensive activities, a total of around 600 persons were controlled," the statement said.
As they added, police officers from this Regional Center carried out an operational-tactical measure - a raid - in three facilities, during which they found and seized a starting pistol, a knife, three batons and an electric shocker.
"Packages containing a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana were found on three individuals, while a certain amount of a white powdery substance suspected to be the narcotic drug cocaine was found on one of them," it is emphasized.
The police added that MR (25) from Pljevlja, AP (20) from Nikšić and IV (38) from Nikšić, on whom drugs were found, were taken to official premises and arrested in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse and brought before the duty judge of the Misdemeanor Court.
"In further activities, police officers seized six passenger motor vehicles from persons close to operationally interesting persons, in order to check their regularity. In addition, the Police, pursuant to orders initiated by the Basic Court, conducted searches at three locations, during which 16 pieces of rifle ammunition were found and seized," the UP statement reads.
As stated, police officers also carried out increased control of traffic participants in all five municipalities under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "West" - Nikšić, Žabljak, Pljevlja, Plužine and Šavnik, with an emphasis on increased control of high-class vehicles and the persons driving these vehicles, as well as activities to suppress all serious violations, during which a total of 358 vehicles and 587 persons were controlled.
"The police will continue to implement intensified activities in all cities, aimed at combating all forms of crime, with a special focus on detecting, preventing and combating criminal offenses related to OKG, operationally interesting persons and persons close to these groups," the UP statement concluded.
