During a search of the premises of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), iPhone 11 and 13 Pro Max phones that were in the office as unused were seized, and the indictment states that ownership of these phones was taken.
Thus, former ASK director Jelena Perović challenged one of the presented pieces of material evidence at today's hearing before the Podgorica Higher Court.
Perović, along with her former assistant Nina Paović, are charged with the crimes of abuse of office and forgery of an official document. According to the indictment, Perović illegally paid variable and overtime wages, fictitiously reported official trips, forged visa documents, and paid telephone bills for family members and associates.
The former director of ASK also pointed out at today's hearing that some of the evidence presented had no connection to the criminal offenses she is accused of.
One of them was the decision to appoint her as director in 2020, to which Perović pointed out that her appointment was not in dispute in any way and had nothing to do with the two criminal offenses for which the Special State Prosecutor's Office is charging her.
The trial in that case continues on November 25th.
