The Herceg Novi police have filed a criminal complaint against a person of operational interest (OIL) MN (41) from Nikšić and DM (39) from Kotor on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of unlawful deprivation of liberty and abuse, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
As stated, it is suspected that the perpetrators committed the crime to the detriment of a Serbian citizen.
"Through the criminal investigation, police officers came to the conclusion that on November 18, at around 6:30 p.m., the perpetrators noticed the injured party on the sidewalk along the street where they were traveling in a passenger vehicle in the town of Igalo," it is stated.
The police add that on that occasion, MN got out of the vehicle, approached the injured party and invited him to get into their vehicle, promising to find him a job.
"The injured party entered the vehicle, after which DM started the vehicle. While driving, MN held the injured party in the back seat of the vehicle with his hands, not allowing him to move or move away, restricting his freedom of movement while simultaneously punching him in the head. The injured party was also punched by the suspect DM. Throughout the entire incident, MN asked the injured party questions related to the circumstances of his stay in Herceg Novi, and eventually asked him for his personal document, which he kept," the UP statement states.
As stated, the suspects then stopped, took the injured party out of the vehicle, and struck him several times in the head and body, both with their hands and with a suitable tool, all the while asking him questions regarding the circumstances of his stay and movements in that city.
"On this occasion, the injured party suffered physical injuries as noted in the medical report. The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi was informed of the entire incident, upon whose order criminal charges were filed against the person of operational interest MN and a person close to him DM on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unlawful deprivation of liberty and the criminal offense of abuse," the UP statement concluded.
