Nikšić police arrested SV (29) who was found with marijuana, while a misdemeanor charge was filed against Nikšić resident M. Ž. (39) after a small amount of cocaine was found in his apartment.
The police in Šavnik filed a criminal complaint against Ž. J. (70), after they found three rifles and ammunition in illegal possession.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'West', carrying out increased activities within their jurisdiction in order to maintain a stable security situation in this region, with an emphasis on activities directed at members of organized crime groups, persons of operational interest and persons close to them, conducted searches at nine locations, as well as increased control of persons and vehicles in traffic," the Police Directorate announced.
"Through these activities, several persons of operational interest and those close to them were controlled, while during a search of the apartment owned by M. Ž. (39) from Nikšić, two small PVC packages containing a white powdery substance suspected of being the narcotic drug cocaine were found and seized, and a misdemeanor report was filed against him for a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse," the statement reads.
"Also, while carrying out these intensified activities, police officers from the Nikšić Security Department found and seized a PVC package containing dry plant matter suspected of being the narcotic drug marijuana from SV (29). He was arrested for a violation of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse and brought before the duty misdemeanor judge for further jurisdiction," the police added.
In addition, police officers from the Šavnik Police Station, undertaking activities aimed at finding weapons in illegal possession, and acting on the order of the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Bijelo Polje, searched the apartment and other premises, as well as the catering facility, used and owned by Ž. J. (70).
"During a search of these facilities, police officers found three rifles and several pieces of various types of ammunition in illegal possession. After appropriate expert assessments, and after informing the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office about the entire case, the criminal offense of unauthorized possession and carrying of weapons and explosives was qualified and a criminal report was filed against Ž. J. in regular proceedings," the police announced.
They announced that police officers from the Regional Security Center "West" are continuing intensified activities within their jurisdiction with a focus on operationally interesting persons and those connected to them, through continuous targeted controls and "a number of other activities against all persons engaged in illegal activities", all with the aim of maintaining a stable security environment for the life and work of citizens of that region.
