Lawyer MK fell ill today at the reception desk of the Supšija prison, after officers from the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions found a package with a white powdery substance in the jeans he intended to bring to his client.
He was quickly given emergency medical assistance, and then he gave a statement to Danilovgrad police inspectors about the origin of the clothing he was wearing on Arnela Trnka, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, suspected of drug smuggling.
MK told police that he was supposed to deliver Trnka's clothes today for her planned wedding to her partner Petar Pejović, who was arrested on July 1 for street drug dealing. He said he just wanted to help and that the clothes were packed in the apartment where Trnka was staying until her arrest, according to a list she had made. He added that he was willing to take a polygraph test.
According to him, a certain V. and her sister helped him pack his clothes, and they told him that they did not know Trnka, but that the husband of one of them knew Pejović.
"The list of things Arnela gave me that she needed for the wedding was packed in a white bag that I found in the apartment on November 22nd. The bag said Petar Pejović. V. looked at the list of things and packed them in front of me, that is, what we could find together. I have the lists in my office. For the other things, like hair dye and some women's necessities, I asked V. to buy them," the lawyer said.
He pointed out that he was the last to take the white bag out of the apartment and put it in the car, because it contained the things Trnka wanted for the wedding.
He states that the day before, on November 21, when he was visiting Trnka, he had agreed with the prison chief, Tania, that he would bring the clothes needed for the ceremony planned for Monday, November 24, since Trnka had no relatives.
He added that the wife of another detainee, who participated in the packaging, gave him paint today, after which he headed to UIKS.
"I told the UIKS officers that I didn't know exactly what was in the bag, except that it was mostly wedding items. During the inspection, the officer took out a PVC package with some powdery substance from the pocket of one of my jeans, as far as I remember - white. I was taken aback, I felt sick, they called an ambulance... After that, I voluntarily came to the police to report it and I am ready to take a polygraph. My only fault is that I got involved in something that I shouldn't have been interested in. I don't think V. had anything to do with it either, I believe that she, like me, just wanted to help," MK stated.
