In the continuation of the trial for the murder of Miodrag Kruščić and the wounding of "Vijesti" journalist Olivera Lakić, defendant Mario Milošević continued his defense today at the Higher Court in Podgorica.
The subject of the indictment is the attack on the journalist of "Vijesti", the injured party Olivera Lakić, on May 8, 2018, the aggravated murder of the injured party Miodrag Kruščić, on May 21, 2018, and the smuggling of 554 kg of the narcotic drug marijuana from Albania to Montenegro, on January 26, 2021.
Milošević also, as at the previous main hearing on November 24, challenged the encrypted Sky communication as evidence.
He pointed to the decisions of European courts and invoked them in challenging Sky as evidence.
He noted that France has suspended Sky's court proceedings and is awaiting a response from the European Court of Human Rights.
"France doubts itself, and we still believe them. I am asking the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) where the phones we are accused of using during the so-called interception of messages were. I trust the institutions of my country, that they will protect me, me and my family, from this slander. I will carefully follow the process, to see how the prosecution intends to prove something that does not exist. I have been in detention for more than seven years for something I have nothing to do with. All my rights and the right to a trial within a reasonable time are being threatened. I ask you to lift the detention, so that after so many years I can devote myself to my family and children. I suggest that you set me bail and house arrest. As an additional guarantee of my presence, consider my statement in which I ask that you declare me guilty if I am late for a single hearing, even though I have nothing to do with the criminal offense I am charged with," Milošević said in his defense.
He said that the media published a communication between the then President of the High and Supreme Courts, which in his opinion means that the only goal in this proceeding is his detention.
"The media could see communication between the then President of the High Court and the President of the Supreme Court, which confirms that the goal of this procedure was detention. They were talking about me, about my detention. This is confirmation of everything I said, that the goal was only detention and that I was the target," Milošević believes.
He told the court that the confirmation of this indictment came at the request of the defense, in order to end this farce as soon as possible.
The trial continues on December 4.
Milan Vujotić, former policeman Darko Lalović, Filip Knežević, Mario Milošević, Goran Rakočević, Veselin Bubanja, Filip Bešović, Luka Bulatović, Dejan Vukašinović, Branislav Karadžić, Goran Vukčević, Mijajlo Stojanović, Aleksandar Ljumović and Sanja Božović are included in the indictment.
They are also charged with smuggling 554 kilograms of marijuana from Albania to Montenegro on January 26, 2021.
"The Council of the High Court in Podgorica, by decision Kvso no. 39/23, confirmed the indictment, Kt-S no. 265/20, which the Special State Prosecutor's Office filed against 14 accused persons, namely: MV, GR, FB, FK, SB, VB, LB, DV, DL, BK, MM, MS, A. Lj. and GV, for the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization, grievous bodily harm, grievous murder, murder by incitement, illegal possession of weapons and explosives and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. The subject of the indictment is, among other things, the attack on the journalist of "Vijesti", the injured party Olivera Lakić, on May 8, 2018, the aggravated murder of the injured party Miodrag Kruščić, on May 21, 2018 and the smuggling of 554 kg of the narcotic drug marijuana, from Albania to Montenegro, on January 26 2021," it was stated earlier in a statement by special prosecutor and SDT spokesperson Vukas Radonjić.
