Nikšić police arrested MV (42) from that city, suspected of thefts from the Cathedral Church of St. Basil of Ostrog and the Railway Infrastructure (ŽICG) warehouse.
The Police Directorate's statement states that MV is a multiple repeat offender in committing property crimes.
They allege that on November 24th, a certain amount of money and a mobile phone were stolen from the Cathedral Church of St. Basil of Ostrog, on Šaka Petrović Square in Nikšić.
This month, a break-in into the ŽICG warehouse was reported to the police, from which a generator and a certain amount of fuel were stolen.
"Taking measures and actions aimed at identifying and finding the perpetrator, Nikšić police officers collected evidence during the investigative procedure that points to the suspicion that the perpetrator of this crime is also MV. He was located in the rented apartment he was using, and then, based on the order of the Basic Court in Nikšić, a search of this facility was carried out, where the police found some of the stolen items and objects that will be returned to the owners," the police announced.
MV was arrested on the orders of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, who qualified the crimes as aggravated theft.
