The extradition detention of Ukrainian citizen Artem Kalaksyz (43), arrested on a warrant issued for him by the NCB Interpol Chisinau-Moldova, was extended today by the Higher Court in Bijelo Polje for another two months.
Kalaksiz was previously arrested by the Žabljak police in a coordinated action together with officers from the Interpol NCB Podgorica, and the extradition detention, as Vijesti learned from the High Court in Bijelo Polje, may continue until January 30th of next year.
The decision was made by the criminal panel of that court after the expiration of 40 days of extradition detention ordered by the investigating judge on duty at that court, Ivan Adamović.
As previously stated in a statement by the Police Directorate (PD), the Higher Investigative Court in Chisinau suspects him of committing the criminal offenses of organizing illegal migration and money laundering in a very sophisticated manner.
"He is suspected of committing these acts through the Telegram and TikTok platforms, while payment for services was made through the Binance platform. The aforementioned criminal offenses are punishable by up to 18 years in prison under Moldovan law," the UP statement said.
