Nikšić police have filed a misdemeanor charge against the parents of minors under the age of 14 suspected of multiple thefts in that city.
As announced by the Police Directorate, the parents of two minors have been prosecuted for child neglect.
The juveniles are suspected of four counts of aggravated theft and attempted aggravated theft in a particularly dangerous or brazen manner. Two juveniles under the age of 14 are suspected of committing these crimes.
"It is suspected that the minors committed these criminal acts in the territory of Nikšić, at the end of October and the beginning of November this year, by breaking into service facilities - a kiosk, a boutique, a coffee bar and a fast food restaurant, from where they stole money, in a total amount of around 500 euros, as well as various items. In addition, as is suspected, they attempted to commit aggravated theft against one person in a particularly brazen manner, which they failed to do," the police announced.
It is added that after the reports, police officers took action to clarify the matter, which led to the identification of two minors who, due to their age under 14, are not criminally responsible.
"The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed about everything, who carried out a legal qualification of the reported events. The police took further measures and actions, and filed misdemeanor charges against the legal representatives of two minors - their parents - with the competent Misdemeanor Court, in accordance with the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, for child neglect," the police announced.
