MG (36) from Bjelopolje, who is suspected of hitting fellow citizen DT (19) with his car two days ago, was ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours after being questioned by the prosecutor.
The Bijelo Polje Security Department yesterday submitted a criminal report, which gives rise to a reasonable suspicion that MG committed the criminal offense of serious offenses against public traffic safety and the criminal offense of failing to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in that city announced.
"Vijesti" announced two days ago that DT was seriously injured.
"The driver of the passenger vehicle left the scene, after which he was found and taken into custody," the ODT told the newspaper at the time.
