Montenegrin police arrested 101 drivers over the weekend, 32 of whom were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the Police Directorate announced.
It is stated that 47 traffic accidents were recorded on Montenegrin roads over the weekend, in which six people suffered serious and seven minor injuries.
As it is added, in the same period, members of the traffic police filed 188 misdemeanor reports, issued 1.579 misdemeanor warrants, temporarily confiscated 17 pairs of license plates and excluded the same number of vehicles from traffic as part of repressive activities.
"101 drivers were arrested, of which 34 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in the body at a concentration of more than one gram per kilogram or refusing to take a breathalyzer test, 30 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances or refusing to submit to a drug test," the police said.
They stated that 37 drivers were arrested for committing other serious violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act.
It is added that of the total number, 38 drivers were arrested in Podgorica, 12 in Nikšić, nine in Kolašin, seven in Bar and six in Budva.
