Border police arrested a Georgian citizen at Podgorica Airport, suspected of using a forged passport.
He was arrested while attempting to leave Montenegro, on a flight from Podgorica to London, when during the control he presented his travel document - a Latvian passport in the name of VP (36).
"Police officers already at the first line of border control doubted the authenticity and correctness of the travel document - the passport, which is why a detailed border check was carried out, which determined that it was a total reproduction and forgery of the document. After conducting criminal processing, this person was identified as GN (37), a citizen of the Republic of Georgia," the police announced.
It is added that after the processing and information collected from the person, the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the event and ordered that GN be deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forging a document.
Today, he will be brought before the acting state prosecutor for further proceedings, along with a criminal complaint.
