Police officer Đ. B. (29) was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of abuse of official position for an extended period of time.
As announced by the Police Directorate, he was arrested by officers of the Crime Fighting Sector - Department for Combating Corruption, Economic Crime, Conducting Financial Investigations and Suppressing Environmental Crime as part of Operation "Baku".
"It is suspected that Đ. B. committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position for an extended period by, in his capacity as an official, an inspector for foreigners in the Border Police Sector based in the Kolašin Security Department, during the control of foreign citizens working on construction sites in the municipality of Kolašin continuously during the second half of 2025, by failing to perform his official duty and by failing to take measures and actions that he was obliged to take, enabling foreign citizens to reside and work contrary to the Law on Foreigners, in which way he obtained unlawful material gain for himself and another person," the police announced.
It is added that the Police Directorate sends the message that the integrity process is a necessity and a constant, both for revealing illegal actions and abuses by police officers from the previous period, and in the current period:
"They will resolutely and indiscriminately oppose corruption and abuses coming from within and continue to undertake continuous activities to detect and suppress corrupt and other criminal acts that undermine the integrity of the police organization, with the aim of establishing a more stable social environment and restoring trust in the work of institutions," the statement reads.
