“On October 7, 2024, two detainees... placed in the detention unit of the Bijelo Polje Prison, reported to the security officer that the detainee VA had psychologically and physically abused the detainee... Immediately after that, the security officer took statements from these detainees, and then made an official note.

In connection with the above, we also point out that the detained person... in the proceedings before the Basic Court in Bijelo Polje confirmed that on October 7, 2024, she first reported psychophysical mistreatment by the detained person VA to the Bijelo Polje Prison administration.
From all of the above, it is evident that the authorities in the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Bijelo Polje Prison, immediately after reporting allegations of mistreatment, took all measures to protect the detainee... from possible further actions by another detainee, and that the allegations in the text that after the convict complained about the treatment of the convict VA towards him, 'no one took any action' are not true.
"In order to objectively and accurately inform the public, we believe it is necessary to publish our response, especially considering that the facts established so far by the competent institutions indicate that the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions took all measures and actions in a timely manner, both to protect the detained person and to undertake an effective investigation into the incident in question," the response signed by the Public Relations Service states.
