Montenegrin police arrested Serbian citizen AZ (30) at the Dračenovac border crossing, who is wanted by Sweden for several criminal offenses, the Police Directorate announced.
It is stated that officers of the Regional Border Police Center "North" at the Dračenovac border crossing, at the entrance to Montenegro, checked a Mercedes vehicle driven by a Serbian citizen AZ, from Novi Pazar.
As it is added, by checking AZ through electronic records, and in communication with the Interpol NCB Podgorica, it was determined that an international arrest warrant was issued for him by the Interpol NCB Stockholm.
"AZ is wanted for serving a prison sentence for the crimes of receiving stolen goods, theft, aggravated unlawful driving, drunk driving, drug-related offenses, threatening a public servant, violent resistance, and attempted theft," the statement said.
The police stated that AZ was arrested and handed over to officers of the Rožaje Security Department.
"He will also be brought before the investigating judge of the High Court in Bijelo Polje within the legal deadline for the purpose of determining extradition detention," the statement added.
