They added that VN was illegally in possession of four rifles and ammunition, while possession of mines by citizens is not permitted, and that he was also legally in possession of the pistol, and that the pistol was temporarily confiscated in accordance with the law and handed over to the competent MUP branch for the purpose of conducting proceedings for the permanent confiscation of the weapon.

"Police officers will continue, throughout the country, with preventive and repressive activities aimed at reducing the availability of illegally possessed weapons, as well as finding and confiscating other items and things that can be confiscated pursuant to the Criminal Procedure Code, all with the aim of reducing the volume of crime and creating a safer environment for citizens," the UP statement concluded.
