The Montenegrin police have filed a criminal complaint against a pharmacist at a hospital pharmacy in Nikšić, B.Š. (61), suspected of abuse of office, the Police Directorate announced.
It is suspected that B.Š., as the head of the Medical Supply Department at the Nikšić General Hospital, from February 9, 2021 to January 28 of this year, caused damage to the Nikšić hospital of around 3.860 euros by failing to perform her official duties.
"By failing to record, improperly keeping records, and failing to account for medicines through the electronic system, she caused the creation of a surplus of medicines and medical devices, for which it was not possible to determine the origin in large numbers," the police statement said.
It is added that the medicines were stored in rooms and places that were not intended for that purpose, which is why the aforementioned medicines and other products can no longer be found in circulation.
"A criminal complaint was filed against B.Š. in regular proceedings at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, at the order of the prosecutor," the statement said.
