As part of increased police activities in the south of the country, 18 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and five for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances.
In addition, the operational actions "Mini Blockade of the City" and "Control of Catering Facilities" were carried out, as well as activities within the operational action "Mladost", during which 40 catering facilities and casinos were controlled, as well as 34 persons of operational interest (OIL) and members of organized crime groups, the police said.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'South' carried out planned activities of increased control of traffic participants over the weekend, with the aim of preventive and repressive action against the causes of traffic accidents with the most serious consequences - alcohol and psychoactive substances.
On that occasion, a total of 670 drivers were checked in the territory under the jurisdiction of this Center, 61 misdemeanor reports were filed, 532 misdemeanor warrants were issued, while the presence of alcohol in the body was determined in 40 persons. 18 persons were deprived of their liberty for driving under the influence of alcohol, while five persons were deprived of their liberty for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances. Three persons of operational interest and members of organized criminal groups were sanctioned," the police statement said.
