Russian citizen GL (41) was arrested on suspicion of stealing a boat in Bar, and heroin was found in his possession, which is suspected to have been sold to him by Baranin DP (54), who was also arrested, the police said.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center "South", Bar Security Department, undertaking increased activities within their jurisdiction, on December 20, checked a person who did not have personal documents with him and who was found in the immediate vicinity of a small vessel that was suspected of not being his property. After establishing the identity of the person - GL (41) from the Russian Federation, the police checked him in detail and found a brown powdery substance on him, suspected of being the narcotic drug heroin, which the police officers confiscated and which will be the subject of appropriate expert examination at the Forensic Center of the Police Directorate in Danilovgrad," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
It is added that the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the incident, and information was collected from GL for the record. In addition, GL was tested for the presence of narcotics, and the test came back positive, the police said.
"Further police and prosecutorial activities undertaken by Bar police officers led to the suspicion that the drugs in question were sold to GL by DP (54) from Bar for a certain amount of money. Information was collected from DP for the record, and the acting prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about the event, upon whose order DP was deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. In addition, police officers from the Bar Security Department also deprived the aforementioned GL of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of aggravated theft because, as is suspected, on December 20th he alienated a vessel that was moored in the place of Hladna uvala, by removing this vessel from its mooring and leaving it in an unknown direction," the statement concludes.
