Police have arrested two residents of Nikšić suspected of robbery and causing serious bodily harm to a fellow citizen.
The Police Directorate announced that a male person reported to their officers in Nikšić that two unknown individuals had attempted to steal his irrigation equipment, physically attacked him and caused him injuries. He said they also stole his Citroen vehicle, which they used to flee and cause a traffic accident.
A specialist doctor diagnosed the injured party with serious physical injuries.
"By taking measures and actions in the field, police officers quickly identified, located and brought to the official premises the persons MR (42) and IS (42) from Nikšić, who are listed in the police records as repeat offenders in the field of property crime. After the criminal investigation was conducted, the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was informed of the entire incident, who ordered that IS be deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of robbery in conjunction with the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm. By order of the acting prosecutor, MR was also deprived of liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of aggravated theft," the police announced.
The suspects will be brought before the competent prosecutor within the legal deadline, along with a criminal report.
