The Council for Citizens' Control of Police Work has opened the "Botun" case.
This was told to "Vijesti" by Zoran Čelebić, president of the Council for Citizen Control of Police Work.
"The Council for Civilian Control of Police Work, despite the fact that the mandate of this convocation is about to expire, on its own initiative, opened the 'Botun' case in the belief that a future convocation of this civil body will treat this case," Čelebić told "Vijesti".
The Police Directorate announced earlier today that officers from the Podgorica Security Department collected information from all persons who were brought to that police station, and who today in Botun, at the site where the construction of a wastewater treatment plant is planned, prevented officers from the Municipal Police from carrying out their official duties and refused to act on the orders of officers from the Police Directorate.
"All persons were released without detention. Also, MP Milan Knežević voluntarily left the police vehicle for group transport of persons, which he had previously entered on his own initiative in the same manner," the police announced earlier today.
They previously announced that 54 people were brought to the police station and that the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed that information was being collected on the circumstances of the event.
The Police Internal Control Department announced earlier today that officers from that department determined that the actions of Police Directorate officers in Botun today were in all segments in accordance with applicable legal regulations and the Rulebook on the manner of performing certain police tasks and the application of police powers.
The machines were brought to the location where the construction of the wastewater treatment plant in Botun is planned earlier today.
Citizens of Zeta who oppose the construction of the plant first blocked and then unblocked the roundabout towards Podgorica Airport, as well as the Bar-Podgorica railway.
The people of Zeća have allegedly unblocked several other, alternative roads towards Podgorica, via the neighboring municipality of Tuzi.
