The Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office are the judicial institutions in which citizens trust the most.
This is stated in a statement by the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office in relation to the presented results of a public opinion survey on citizens' trust in the Montenegrin judicial system by the Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI).
They recalled that according to the Survey on the Perception of the State Prosecutor's Office, conducted with the support of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Montenegro, in October this year, the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office and the Special State Prosecutor's Office remain the institutions most trusted by citizens.
"As many as 61,8 percent of respondents trust the work of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, and 60,5 percent of respondents trust the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office in the same period, which confirms the continuity of citizens' trust in the work of the State Prosecutor's Office," the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
According to the same survey, 54,3 percent of respondents believe that in 2025 the State Prosecutor's Office will successfully fight corruption and organized crime, while in 2021 only 31,8 percent of respondents shared this view.
Also, the World Bank's Regional Justice Survey for 2025 confirms the position of the State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro as one of the most stable and professional institutions in the judicial system.
"The results of this survey show that citizens' trust in the judicial system remains stable and relatively high, with a slight decline from 59 percent to 55 percent compared to 2020," the statement said.
The results of the State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro in the fight against crime, especially organized crime and corruption, have been recognized in Montenegrin society this year, just as they have been recognized outside of Montenegro, by the European Commission and other international entities, and as has been publicly emphasized on several occasions in reports.
