Officers of the Regional Security Center "North", in cooperation with officers of the Customs Administration, conducted a joint inspection of two car scrapyards in Bijelo Polje, during which seven vehicles were seized.
"The inspection was carried out at a car lot owned by BL from Bijelo Polje, during which three vehicles were seized, as well as at a car lot owned by EH, also from that city, during which four vehicles were seized from him, without proper documentation," the Police Directorate announced.
The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje declared that criminal charges should be filed against BL and EH, on suspicion that they committed a criminal offense - illicit trade.
"It is suspected that, without authorization to conduct commercial activities, they acquired vehicles while avoiding paying customs duties, in order to disassemble the vehicles into parts and resell them," the police added.
They said that this action represents another example of successful, coordinated and synchronized cooperation between the Police Directorate and the Customs Directorate, and that it confirms the determination of the competent authorities in the fight against all forms of crime.
