A total of 150 people were arrested in 2025 on international arrest warrants.

As announced by the Police Directorate, last year they achieved "exceptional, historic results" in international operational cooperation, through the Interpol National Central Bureau Podgorica and through the intensive exchange of direct operational and intelligence data with partner security services.

As explained by the police 96 people were arrested in Montenegro, on foreign warrants, while 54 people were arrested abroad on Montenegrin warrants, including high-ranking members of organized crime groups.

"For comparison, during 2024, 75 persons were deprived of their liberty in Montenegro on foreign warrants, while 32 persons were deprived of their liberty abroad on Montenegrin warrants. The achieved results represent an increase of 30 percent of persons deprived of their liberty in Montenegro and as much as 69 percent of persons deprived of their liberty abroad on international warrants of the NCB Interpol Podgorica, which clearly confirms the high level of operability, efficiency, commitment and credibility of the Montenegrin police at the international level," the statement reads.

The above results, they add, were achieved thanks to intensive cooperation with law enforcement agencies and the international security and intelligence community, primarily with Interpol, Europol and Selecao, as well as efficient coordination and continuous cooperation with foreign police liaison officers.

"During 2025, the number of operational and intelligence communications exchanged via secure communication channels reached a historic level, further strengthening the ability of the Montenegrin police to respond effectively and promptly to all forms of transnational crime. The Police Directorate has regained full trust and significantly strengthened its international reputation through a series of concrete operational activities and improved cooperation based on efficient information exchange, thereby actively contributing to the fight against organized and international crime. The achieved results, high professional standards and built trust confirm the role of the Montenegrin police as a reliable partner within the national framework, as well as in the regional and global security network, with a clear commitment and uncompromising dedication to locating and bringing to justice the most wanted members of criminal groups and perpetrators of serious crimes, thereby making a strong contribution to strengthening collective security," the police said in a statement.
