Nikšić police found and confiscated 7.115 different types of firecrackers and 30 fireworks, in the "Firecracker" operation.
"Police officers, having operational information that SF (26) from Nikšić, for the purpose of illegal sale, possesses a large quantity of pyrotechnics, conducted a control of the vehicle in which this person was driving. The aforementioned quantity of firecrackers and fireworks was found in the vehicle, which was confiscated from this person," the Police Directorate announced.
The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić has been informed about the incident, and will make a statement on the qualification of the criminal offense at a later date.
The "Petarda" operation, aimed at preventing the illicit trade in pyrotechnics, as well as the misuse of these devices, is being implemented by the Police Directorate at the national level.
