Vice President of the Assembly of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, President of the Main Board of the SDP and representative of the European Union Mirko Stanić admitted that he made a big mistake that he sincerely regrets when he was detained for driving under the influence of alcohol.
He spoke out after "Vijesti" reported that he was detained on December 26 in Podgorica for driving under the influence of alcohol, after citizens reported to the police that the driver was damaging parked cars on Novaka Miloševa Street.
"Regarding the news that appeared in the media this morning, I would like to confirm that I made a big mistake and that I sincerely regret it. Doing public work means greater, not less, responsibility in everyday life. Therefore, I sincerely apologize for the thoughtlessness that led to the offense for which I was punished," Stanić said in a post on Iks.
He thanked the officers of the Police Directorate and the employees of the Misdemeanor Court for their very professional attitude.
"Although this is the first punishment in my life, I will do my best to make it the last, and for this crime it certainly will be," Stanić concluded.
