Police officers of the Regional Security Center "South" and the Special Police Unit yesterday carried out planned and targeted repressive activities in the territory of the Kotor municipality, aimed at preventing and detecting criminal offenses, raising the level of security and suppressing the activities and control of members of organized criminal groups, operationally interesting persons, and persons connected to and close to them, the Police Directorate (PD) announced today.
As stated in the statement, on that occasion, searches were carried out in the town of Kavač of apartments and other facilities used by several persons, including facilities used by members of an organized criminal group - IM and VB.
"Also, police officers from the Kotor Security Department located and brought to the official premises a person of operational interest, DK (23) from Tivat, who was wanted at the local level, near these facilities," the UP statement said.
The police added that after conducting a criminal investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against DK in regular proceedings, on the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, on suspicion that he had previously committed the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of his official duties.
"DK, as is suspected, addressed life-threatening words to a police officer during the control, after which he left in an unknown direction. His passenger vehicle was also seized from him yesterday for further checks," the UP statement concluded.
