Police officers of the Regional Security Center "North", in continuation of intensified operational repressive measures and actions aimed at suppressing all forms of crime with an emphasis on controlling persons of operational interest and those close to them, conducted searches at several locations during which three pistols, four high-class vehicles, 175 pills on the list of opiates, as well as a smaller quantity of the narcotic drug marijuana were found and temporarily seized, and one person of operational interest was deprived of his liberty, and a misdemeanor report was filed against one.
This was announced today by the Police Administration (UP).
As stated in the statement, in Bijelo Polje, a search of the apartment and other premises used by a person of operational interest, D. Đ., from that city, resulted in the discovery of 46 pills from the list of opiates for which he did not have medical documentation.
"The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was informed about the incident, on whose order D. Đ. was deprived of liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. He will be brought before the Higher State Prosecutor for further jurisdiction within the legal deadline, along with a criminal report," the UP statement states.
The police added that during a search of the apartment and other premises used by a person of operational interest, IJ, also from Bijelo Polje, the police found and seized a total of 129 pills from the list of opiates.
"IJ had medical documentation for some of these pills. The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was informed of the incident and stated that IJ's actions did not constitute a criminal offense, but that a request should be filed against him to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for violations of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse," the statement reads.
The UP also said that during a search of the apartment and other premises used by the person of operational interest AD in Berane, officers of the Berane police found and temporarily seized a CZ P-07 pistol, caliber 9 mm, two frames for this weapon, as well as a firearms license for this weapon, which is in the name of his wife.
"The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed of the incident and stated that there were no elements of a criminal offense in the aforementioned actions, but that the weapons in question would be forwarded to the competent authority for the implementation of administrative proceedings with a request for permanent confiscation. Also, for the purpose of appropriate detailed checks, four high-class vehicles were temporarily seized from this person - an Audi S7, a VW Golf 8 GTI, a BMW X6 and an Audi A6," it states.
During a search of the apartment and other premises used by a person of operational interest, VT from Berane, two gas pistols and six rounds of ammunition were found and temporarily seized.
This person was reportedly issued a misdemeanor warrant pursuant to the Weapons Act.
"During a search of the apartment and other premises used by the person of operational interest MM, also from that city, a scale for precise measurement, a so-called crusher, as well as an irritating spray were found and temporarily seized," the UP said.
The police add that, during a search of the apartment and other premises used by EK, a person close to the person of operational interest found a small amount of a substance suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana, in relation to which the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje has been informed, who will conduct a subsequent legal qualification of the event.
"Officers of the Police Directorate continue their intensified activities to suppress all forms of crime, with a focus on continuous control of persons of operational interest and those close to them, all with the aim of maintaining a favorable security environment in the country," the statement concludes.
