Ilija Racanović (35) was arrested today in Nikšić.
The Police Directorate announced that Racanović is a member of an organized criminal group.
Racanović is suspected of the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs as co-perpetrator, and of being a repeat offender in the commission of criminal offenses in the field of weapons and drug abuse.
"According to the evidentiary measures and actions taken so far, and as presented in the criminal report, it is suspected that IR committed this criminal offense in co-perpetration with a member of the OKG VV (30) from Cetinje, for whom an international arrest warrant has been issued for the criminal offense of murder, and with a person NB (24), also a member of the OKG, who was deprived of liberty on January 3 on suspicion of having committed the following criminal offenses: murder, illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, and unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotics. We remind you that during the search of the apartment where NB was hiding in Spuž, the police found nearly half a kilogram of cocaine, the aforementioned persons IR, VV and NB are suspected of abusing it," the Police Directorate announced.
Criminal charges were filed against Racanović and Vukan Vujačić with the competent prosecutor's office on suspicion that they committed this criminal offense.
The police announced that during today's operation, during the arrest of Racanović, two more members of the organized crime group ID and VL, who were with him, were checked.
"On this occasion, VL was sanctioned for a misdemeanor by police officers, while ID was found to have violated the ban on leaving the territory of the Budva municipality, which will be reported to the competent court. An Audi Q7 passenger vehicle was seized from IR for further legal checks," the statement reads.
