The Nikšić police have processed five people, two of whom are minors, on suspicion of committing multiple thefts in the city, the Police Directorate announced.
It is stated that the police, acting on reports from several owners that mobile phones, wallets and other personal belongings had been stolen from their vehicles, as well as on a report from a citizen that a generator had been stolen from an auxiliary building owned by him, took measures and actions within their jurisdiction in order to identify the perpetrators.
"Following the police activities undertaken, police officers secured evidence and identified AK (18), DA (18) and two minors aged 15 and 16 as the perpetrators, who are multiple repeat offenders in the area of property crime," the statement said.
It is added that, upon the order of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, police officers arrested AK and DA and filed criminal charges against them on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated theft over an extended period of time.
"A criminal complaint was filed against two suspected minors in regular proceedings on suspicion that they committed the same criminal offense," the police said.
As they stated, following a report of the theft of the generator, the police identified AV (21) as the perpetrator.
"At the order of the acting prosecutor, criminal charges were filed against AV in regular proceedings on suspicion of committing the crime of aggravated theft," the statement said.
It is reported that some of the stolen items were found and returned to their owners.
