The Minor Offences Court in Podgorica, Danilovgrad Department, sentenced JV to 30 days in prison for committing offences under the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence.
This was told to "Vijesti" by the spokesperson for that court, Judge Ana Bokan.
On January 12th of this year, in the family home in Danilovgrad, JV damaged property and threatened to attack his father. While in the living room, he hit the wooden coffee table with his fist on which there was glass, which broke from the force of the impact. He threatened his father with the words "I would turn you into minced meat if you weren't my father", and then went to the kitchen and overturned the bed on the floor.
These actions caused the injured party to feel anxious and insecure.
Furthermore, on January 14 of this year, also in the family home, JV attempted to damage his father's property by hitting a wooden coffee table with both fists while he was in the living room, in an intoxicated state, with 2,5 per mille of alcohol in his system, and then knocking it over in the direction of the TV stand, which caused the injured party to feel anxious and insecure.
Considering that the defendant was punished for a serious offense under the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, and that there is a reasonable suspicion that he will repeat the offense, he was immediately sent to serve his prison sentence, before the decision becomes final.
