The Rožaje police, on the orders of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, filed a criminal complaint against the former director of the "Water Supply and Sewerage" in that city, Senad Mujević (57), due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position.
He is, as suspected,, obtained illegal material gain from other persons, to the direct detriment of the budget, in the amount of 236.588 euros.
Mujević is suspected of committing the aforementioned criminal offense by, as the director of "Vodovod", founded by the Municipality of Rožaje, abusing his official position, in the period from 2019 to the second half of 2024, while he was at the head of that company, illegally employing ten people, without public advertising and in positions that were not provided for by the Regulation on Internal Organization and Job Classification, thereby damaging the budget by the aforementioned amount.
"We remind you that, at the end of July 2025, police officers from the Rožaje Security Department, acting on the prosecutor's order, deprived SM of his liberty on suspicion that he had committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position, by which he is suspected of having obtained for himself or others unlawful property in the amount of 158.179,88 euros, which also represents material damage he caused to the company DOO Vodovod i kanalizacija Rožaje," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
They say that this institution will "consistently and indiscriminately continue with activities aimed at prosecuting corruption crimes", all abuses and illegal actions, "regardless of the function or position of individuals", with a focus on combating corruption and preserving the integrity of state institutions.
