A search of the apartments and other premises used by MR (44) in Igalo found a gun, ammunition, opiate pills, scales and a small amount of marijuana, the Police Directorate announced. Therefore, a criminal complaint has been filed against MR for the criminal offense of unauthorized possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, and a misdemeanor for violations of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
During a search of an apartment, police officers from the Herceg Novi police found a Sig Sauer pistol with a frame containing six rounds of ammunition and a firearms license, as well as a package with a total of 25 rounds of 7.65 caliber ammunition and a package with a total of 25 rounds of 9 mm caliber ammunition, the police said in a statement.
"The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi was informed of the incident and stated that MR's actions, in relation to the 9 mm caliber ammunition, constitute elements of the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, and a criminal complaint was filed against the suspect in regular proceedings at the order of the acting prosecutor, while the seized weapons and associated ammunition will be sent for appropriate expert evaluations, followed by administrative proceedings," the statement reads.
Pills, scales and marijuana were found in another apartment.
"The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, who is familiar with the event, stated that MR's actions in relation to the items found at this location do not constitute elements of a criminal offense, but rather a misdemeanor under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse, and that a misdemeanor charge should be filed against him in the regular procedure. In addition to the seized weapons and associated ammunition, drugs and other items that were seized were also sent for appropriate expert evaluation," the police said.
