The Podgorica police have sanctioned SK, who on January 15 this year in the town of Bistrica blocked the railway line with an unregistered van and prevented the safe and smooth running of railway traffic, the Police Directorate (PD) announced today.
The statement said that police seized the van and its license plates.
"Officers of the Police Administration - Security Department of Podgorica, taking legally prescribed measures and actions within their jurisdiction in relation to unregistered gatherings on the territory of the Capital City and the municipality of Zeta, sanctioned the person SK who, on January 15, 2026, drove an unregistered vehicle in public transport, that is, who drove a van to the town of Bistrica and blocked the railway line, that is, prevented the safe and unhindered operation of railway traffic. This vehicle and its corresponding license plates were seized," the statement states.
The UP added that, in addition, due to the act of commission itself - leaving the vehicle as an obstacle in a place where the safety of others is endangered, the state prosecutor will assess the elements of the criminal offense in a special assessment, while all necessary actions will be taken to determine all the facts and circumstances of this event, where regardless of the outcome of the legal qualification, this person will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
On January 15, residents of the Zeta village of Botun blocked a roundabout on the main road to Cetinje in the Podgorica settlement of Donja Gorica, the road in the Zeta village of Bistrice, as well as the Bar-Podgorica railway.
After several hours of blockades, they unblocked all these roads.
Due to the blockade in Bistrice, huge traffic jams formed on the road, and as Vijesti readers previously reported, due to the blockade, columns of cars almost reached Virpazar.
That day, the residents of Botuni also blocked the roundabout on the road between Zeta and Podgorica near the Voli logistics center for a while.
They oppose the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the Zeta village of Botun.
