The border police in Nikšić arrested a Pakistani citizen HR (18), on suspicion of smuggling six people from India, Bangladesh, Egypt and Syria, including three minors.
After the hearing, the prosecutor ordered his detention for up to 72 hours.
"While carrying out field activities, police officers spotted and controlled seven people in the border zone, in the town of Kljakovica, who, after being brought to the official premises, were identified as HR (18) from Pakistan, SH (36) and SG (39) from India, MA (26) from Bangladesh, two minors aged 15 and 16 from Egypt, as well as one minor aged 17 from Syria," the Police Directorate announced.
After collecting information and conducting criminal investigations, it was determined that HR, as suspected, waited for the aforementioned group of migrants in the territory of Podgorica, with the intention of illegally transporting them to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, avoiding police controls and official border crossings, with the ultimate goal of arriving in Italy.
It was also determined that HR was previously known to the police for illegally crossing the state border on January 1, when he was caught illegally crossing from BiH into Montenegro.
This Pakistani citizen was arrested by order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal crossing of the state border and human smuggling.
