Albanian citizen RO (59) was arrested at the Božaj border crossing point (BP) because it was determined that the chassis number on the vehicle he was driving did not match the number on the vehicle registration certificate, and that the license plates of another vehicle were used on the vehicle.
This was announced today by the Police Administration (UP).
As stated in the statement, police officers of the Regional Border Police Center "Centar" - Border Police Station Podgorica carried out a border check on RO (59), a citizen of Albania, at the Božaj border crossing.
"An inspection of the 'VW Touran' vehicle with German license plates, driven by the named person, revealed that the vehicle's chassis number did not match the number stated in the vehicle registration certificate. It was also determined that the vehicle had license plates that belonged to another vehicle," the statement said.
RO, as the police added, after conducting a criminal investigation, was arrested on the orders of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forging a document.
"The named person will be brought to the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica today, with a criminal report," the UP statement concluded.
