German citizen MTM, wanted by Montenegro, has been arrested in Bulgaria, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that Bulgarian police arrested MTM at Varna Airport.
"Bulgarian police officers, acting on an international warrant issued by NCB Interpol Podgorica, have arrested MTM, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, at Varna Airport. NCB Interpol Podgorica is seeking MTM for the purpose of bringing him to the competent Basic Court in Kotor, before which criminal proceedings are being conducted against him due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal act of fraud on the territory of our country," the statement said.
The Police Department added that further communication is underway between NCB Interpol Podgorica and NCB Interpol Sofia regarding the extradition of the German citizen.
