The Kotor police will file requests to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against parents whose minor children were found to be under the influence of alcohol during inspections of catering establishments.
The Police Directorate announced that Kotor police officers, in cooperation with the tourist inspector of the Municipal Inspection Service, carried out increased control actions of catering establishments called "Mladost" over the past two evenings.
"These actions are being carried out with the aim of controlling the serving of alcoholic beverages, with an emphasis on the prohibition of serving alcoholic beverages to minors, as well as with the aim of controlling operationally interesting persons and members of organized crime groups in catering establishments on the territory of the municipality of Kotor," the statement reads.
On that occasion, a minor (16) was checked into a catering establishment in Radanovići and it was determined that he had been drinking alcohol. The inspector filed a misdemeanor report against the legal and responsible person in that establishment pursuant to the Law on Tourism and Catering.
During a check in another restaurant in Sveti Stasije, eight minors, aged 15, 16 and 17, were found under the influence of alcohol.
"Officers of the Kotor Security Department collected information from the minors and their parents for the record, and requests will be filed against the parents to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for violations under Article 37 of the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence - Neglect," the police announced.
In addition, the traffic police in Kotor arrested two drivers, while one was prosecuted in the regular procedure.
"Traffic police officers in Kotor carried out increased control of road users, during which, during one evening from 19 pm to 21 pm, they processed three drivers - NV (39) who refused to undergo a test for the presence of psychoactive substances in his body, MI (44) who was found to have alcohol in his body at a concentration of 1,55 g/kg and they were deprived of their liberty, while SB (69) was found to have alcohol in his body at a concentration of 0,66 g/kg and he was processed in the regular procedure. He will be held accountable for violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act," the statement reads.
