The police filed a criminal complaint against EA (54) from Podgorica, on suspicion of committing the crime of human trafficking against a woman from Rožaje.
"Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector have filed a criminal complaint against EA (54) from Podgorica, who is suspected of committing the crime of human trafficking to the detriment of his common-law wife from Rožaje, whom he recruited and held in his house in Podgorica during October and November 2025, using force and threats, and through abuse of trust, for the purpose of daily forced labor," the Police Directorate announced.
They remind that EA was deprived of his liberty in December last year on suspicion of committing the crime of rape in prolonged duration in conjunction with the crime of domestic or family violence to the detriment of the same female person, his common-law wife.
He was then deprived of his liberty and, after being questioned by the competent prosecutor, was remanded in custody, where he is currently being held.
"After that, officers of the Crime Prevention Sector took further measures and actions within their jurisdiction and came to the suspicion that EA, in addition to committing the aforementioned criminal acts against the injured party for which he was prosecuted, also committed the criminal act of human trafficking, in the manner described above," the statement reads.
