In 2025, the High Court in Podgorica confirmed the indictments filed by the Special State Prosecutor's Office against 164 persons, and the indictments were confirmed in relation to 97,62 percent of the persons on whom the court decided, according to the Report on the Work of the Special State Prosecutor's Office for 2025.
"According to the work report, in relation to the number of accused persons, for organized crime crimes, a 202,08 percent better result was achieved compared to 2024, while for money laundering crimes, the result was 88,89 percent better. The report also shows that, pursuant to orders, proposals and initiatives of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, numerous real estate properties of natural and legal persons were frozen last year, with a total area of 1.911.989,42 m2," the State Prosecutor's Office announced.
The report also presented that the Special State Prosecutor's Office, during 2025, launched financial investigations against 148 natural and legal persons, in order to collect data and evidence on the property, legal income and living expenses of the owners, which are necessary for submitting requests for the permanent seizure of property gains.
"All of the above clearly shows that the Special State Prosecutor's Office, over the past year, has achieved significant results both in terms of criminal prosecution for criminal offenses within its substantive jurisdiction, and in terms of confiscation of property and proceeds of crime."
