Lawyer Andrijana Razić reacted on behalf of Mirko and Petar Cicmil, as well as on behalf of their family, to the article "Nikšić in the Noose of Lenders: Lending in Montenegro (5)".
"Namely, in the aforementioned text published on your portal on 1. 2. 2026, it is stated that 'The holders of usury business in the Nikšić area for years', among other listed persons, are 'Petar and Mirko Cicmil from Plužine', and that this is 'shown by operational data from security services'. Petar and Mirko Cicmil most resolutely and sharply deny the otherwise completely unverified 'marketplace' stories and alleged 'operational data' that have been publicly placed in this way," the response reads.
The Cicmil brothers, she said, categorically claim that they have never engaged in so-called "greenwashing" in their lives and that there can be no evidence of this.
"In addition to the fact that 'greenwashing' is a serious criminal offense punishable by a high prison sentence, it is also, in the opinion and position of my authorities, deeply immoral and despicable behavior. If there were any evidence that the Cicmil brothers were engaged in the aforementioned activity, then this information would certainly no longer exist only at the level of some 'operational data', but these allegations would have long since become the content of a specific criminal report or possibly an indictment - which is obviously not the case to this day. Instead, and in the absence of facts that would support such an inadmissible and completely blanket public discrediting of the entire Cicmil family, their honor and reputation are being perfidiously and brutally violated through the media, in a way that leaves them no room for a concrete defense. For this reason, they are forced to stand up for the 'face' and reputation of themselves and their family, at least in this way, especially considering that they have lived and worked their entire lives in a relatively small social community where everyone knows everyone very well and where it is easy and public to 'label' people in "In this context, it causes permanently damaged interpersonal relationships and deep and serious mental pain," the response reads.
