UP: Around 1.500 people were checked in 225 facilities, including 32 OIL, minors were drinking alcoholic beverages...

During the past weekend, the police controlled 166 catering facilities and 59 sports betting shops/casinos, in which around 1.500 people were controlled, of which 32 were operationally interesting persons (OIL), the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.

"During the past weekend, officers of the Police Directorate carried out planned preventive activities in most municipalities in the country, with the aim of increased control of persons of operational interest (OIL) and members of the OKG, with a special emphasis on maintaining stable public order and peace, preventing the commission of criminal offenses and misdemeanors, identifying perpetrators of criminal offenses, as well as finding objects that originate from criminal offenses or can be used to commit them. In the area of ​​regional security centers (Center, West, North and South), during the implementation of the above activities, the police carried out controls of 166 catering facilities and 59 sports betting shops/casinos, in which around 1.500 persons were controlled, of which 32 were OIL," the statement states.

The UP added that 13 minors were found consuming alcoholic beverages in catering establishments, as well as 13 foreign citizens without registered residence, while one person was found without personal documents.

"In connection with the measures taken, police officers filed requests to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against the parents of minors, in accordance with the Law on Protection of Domestic Violence (Neglect), as well as against responsible and legal persons of catering facilities in accordance with the Law on Tourism and Hospitality, in cooperation with the Tourist Inspection. During the implementation of these activities, police officers found and seized a certain amount of psychoactive substances - narcotic drugs, as well as one metal baton, which was notified to the competent prosecutor," the UP said.

The statement states that in the coming period, police officers will continue to implement operational, preventive and repressive measures, with the aim of maintaining stable public order and preventing the commission of criminal offenses, in part by increasing control of OIL and members of organized crime groups (OKG), as well as by finding objects that originate from criminal offenses or can be used to commit them.
