A Turkish citizen convicted of child sexual abuse was arrested at the Dobrakovo border crossing (BP), and a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) wanted for extortion and theft was arrested at the Vraćenovići border crossing, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that border police officers arrested FAS (41), a Turkish citizen, at Dobrakovo yesterday.
"The named person is wanted on a red warrant issued by the Interpol Ankara NCB, issued by order of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Kocaeli, Republic of Turkey, dated 18.07.2024, in order to serve a prison sentence of six years and eight months, imposed by a verdict of the Kocaeli High Court, for the criminal offense of sexual abuse of children," the statement states.
The Police Department said that border police officers at the Vraćenovići - Deleuša Joint Border Crossing Point, at the entrance to Montenegro, checked MZ (38), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was then arrested on the basis of an international warrant issued by the Interpol Belgrade NCB.
"The named person is being sought pursuant to the order of the Basic Court in Belgrade dated December 4, 2024, in order to serve a one-year prison sentence imposed by that court's verdict for the criminal offense of theft in extended duration, as well as pursuant to the order of the Higher Court in Belgrade dated July 16, 2024, in order to conduct criminal proceedings on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of extortion," the statement reads.
