The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Berane ordered RA to be detained for up to 72 hours on suspicion that he drove his vehicle at DA's nephew and threatened him, the Berane ODT announced today.
The statement states that his detention was ordered after questioning, and that he is suspected of the criminal offenses of domestic violence or family violence and endangering security.
"On February 18, 2026, at around 02:18,20 p.m., in Berane, the suspect RA threatened the safety of a family member - the injured party's nephew DA - by threatening to attack his life and body, by driving his vehicle towards him, which caused the injured party to move aside, and then, getting out of the vehicle, addressed serious threats to him, after which he addressed the same words to his neighbors, all of which caused the injured party to feel afraid and threatened," the statement states.
The Berane Public Prosecutor's Office added that the suspect was detained due to the risk of repeating the criminal offenses and influencing witnesses, bearing in mind that he was convicted in first-instance verdicts for the same criminal offenses and because he is in close friendly relations with the witnesses.
"In the further course of the procedure, necessary measures and actions will be taken, with the aim of reaching a decision in these cases," the statement reads.
